Picking the best plectrums, using them right – and having fun playing guitar.

Plectrums with grip – don’t lose your guitar pick!

Imagine … the band is grooving … the crowd is cheering … just seconds to go until you will play your famous guitar solo … you know, the one hat just rocks!  … And you are losing your pick. Damn!

I guess every gigging guitar player already had that situation (… although the size of the crowd might vary from player to player ;-) ). But there is something you can do about it:

Get a guitar plectrum with grip!

There are a couple of them on the market. Here are my favorites:

1.) It’s actually the DIY version: Get a tool and cut some scratches in your plectrum. But be careful! The advantages of this method:

  • you can chose your preferred guitar pick
  • you can place the scratches exactly where you need them.

2.) maxpick guitar plectrums

Maxpics have a sticky area in the middle (the black area), that give you a nice grip. What I do not like: For me, at least with this regular shape you see above, the black sticky area is a little to far on the top. I would need it a little lower on the pick.

All right, this is just the beginning of this review, don’t worry. But I wanted to put it online alread to try out a couple of things … so come back later to read more :-)
